Although the writers application is structured asking which area a writer would like to write in, with the new and improved Um writers will not me limited to one topic, so check all that you are interested in and include any that are not listed that you might want to take part in.
UM is looking for people who are willing to stick with us and be committed. UM also provides people opportunities to move up within the staff to team leaders or managers. UM is looking for you whether you are willing to supply one or two pieces per issue or fully immerse yourself into the organization of UM.
If you would love to be part of UM but cannot make a commitment, you can consider the option of being a guest writer, the application is there also.

I shall take the liberty of speaking for all nominees that it is exciting to get nominated at SKoW. Whether or not you are for or against SKoW, it does mean that SOMEONE out there liked your story enough to nominate it and the judges liked it enough to put it through. I myself am super excited that I was nommed for Most Creative Plot because in Nondescript I tried to do things not out of the box not only for the way and format that I wrote the story, but for each character as well. So yay!

Falling from heaven hurts. Not the fall itself, there is no free falling and crashing to the earth, but it hurts nonetheless. Fallen angels, known more commonly as faeries, were demoted from heaven centuries ago and now live among humans. They were stripped of their essence, no longer in service to The Eternal, their creator, the bond that propelled their life was severed. The very thing that defined them removed by force, followed by exile to earth to live among humanity, the worst punishment imaginable for an angel. Unable to blend, incapable of aging and permanently banished from heaven, they must either live among humans as an outsider, or exist alone. This is the story of Colt, a faerie living among humans in a pleasant yet unfulfilling, unnaturally long life. Until that life is disrupted by an old friend and current enemy. Cael, an angel who survived the unexplained mass demotion of angels, still has his white wings and needs help. Angels are getting torn down from heaven and dragged into hell, tortured and killed or worse, turned.

I have been planning over the last couple weeks and am very happy about what I've ended up with.
With the help of my halfy,
chasingvertigo , and other random friends, I have developed a fantasy story that deals with angels and faeries (and humans of course). Here's the gist:
Faeries are demoted angels and have been living, trapped on earth with humanity for centuries. But then the angels show up, they need help in a bad way. But why would the faeries help out the angels? After what happened to them?
Well, you'll have to read to find out.
It'll be fantasy mixed with romance mixed with some action.
The two MCs are Colt (faerie) and Cael (angel) and the story follows them in their love/hate relationship as the war between heaven and hall rages on.
We can chat, and write together and whatnot :) read each others work and stuff :D
